Bihar Train Accident: 6 bogies of North East Express derail in Buxar, 4 killed, 100 injured


A major train accident has occurred in Buxar, Bihar, in which 4 people died. More than 100 people are injured in this accident, hence it is feared that the number of deaths may increase in the coming time.

A major accident took place in Buxar quarter of Bihar on Wednesday night. The North-East Express going from Delhi's Anand Vihar station to Guwahati's Kamakhya station derailed near Raghunathpur railway station in Buxar district at 9.35 pm. In this accident, 6 coaches of the train derailed and 4 people died.

About 100 people injured in the accident are still witnessing treatment in the sanitarium, out of which 20 people are seriously injured and have been appertained to Patna AIIMS for treatment. Therefore, it is feared that the death toll may increase further. Buxar DM Anshul Aggarwal said that those seriously injured in the accident have been referred to Patna, while the remaining injured are being treated in a nearby hospital. At present, the reasons behind the accident have not been revealed.




SDRF team in action

After the train accident, Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav is continuously keeping an eye on the matter. Tejashwi Yadav has posted on social media that the Bihar SDRF team is actively engaged in relief and rescue work. He further said that the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health and Disaster Management Department, Pratyaya Amrit, along with the officials of the Health and Disaster Management Department, is monitoring the arrangements along with the relief and rescue work in the control room. The hospital is on alert mode. Sacrifices in the quarter have been made free for vehicles.


Treatment in Ara hospital also

In a social media post made from Tejashwi Yadav's office, it was said that the medical officer and other health workers at Sub-Divisional Hospital Jagdishpur and Shahpur Hospital Bhojpur are ready for rescue and relief work. Ambulances from Rohtas, Buxar and Bhojpur sections have been transferred to the spot. The injured are also being treated at Ara Sadar Hospital.


Routes of these trains had to be changed

DDU Patna rail route has been affected after the North East Express accident. The routes of many trains have been changed. 15125/15126 Jan Shatabdi Express running between Banaras and Patna was cancelled. The route of 12948 Patna Ahmedabad Special train and 12487 Jogwani Anand Vihar Superfast Express was also changed.




These trains will be run via Hajipur Chhapra Banaras Prayagraj. In the down direction, 12149 Pune Danapur Express, 12141 Lokmanya Tilak Patliputra Express and 12424 New Delhi Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express are being run via Deendayal Upadhyay Junction Sasaram Jara. While Anand Vihar Bhagalpur Vikramshila Express, Bhagat Ki Kothi-Kamakhya Junction Express, New Delhi. Rajendra Nagar Tejas Express, Anand Vihar Bhagalpur Garib Rath Express, Anand Vihar Jogbani Superfast Express, Sikkim Mahananda Express and Anand Vihar- Madhupur Junction Superfast Express are being run via Deendayal Upadhyay Junction Gaya Patna.




In the up direction, Barauni Ahmedabad Express, Dibrugarh New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Guwahati New Delhi Express and Danapur Pune Express running from Danapur to Pune will be run via the changed route Ara Sasaram Deendayal Upadhyay Junction. Patna Lokmanya Tilak Express, Sikkim Mahananda Express and Patna to Bandra Terminus Superfast Express are being run from Patna via Gaya, Deendayal Upadhyay Junction.
