John Rocker and Patrick Mahomes Sr. involved in an intense dispute on Bourbon Street prior to Super Bowl 59.
Former MLB ewer John Rocker and Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, were involved in a physical altercation on Bourbon Street ahead of Super Bowl 59.
A videotape circulating on social media Tuesday shows Rocker approaching Mahomes Sr., putatively trying to start a discussion before Mahomes Sr. pulled down and began yelling.
The situation snappily escalated before the two were separated.
Rocker latterly addressed the incident on social media, posting “ This( curse) clunker can not take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his( curse) weekend indeed more. ”
The exact cause of the battle remains unclear, but Rocker had posted several tweets censuring Mahomes Jr. in the days preceding the Super Bowl.
On Jan. 27, he twittered “ Patrick Mahomes( curse) sucks, ” followed by other depreciatory reflections, including a suggestive comment about Mahomes and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
enterprise has also arisen that the altercation may have been offered to promote an exhibition boxing match between the two at Barstool Sports’ “ Rough N’ rumbustious ” event.
While Barstool author Dave Portnoy verified last week that a fight is planned, contracts have yet to be perfected.
Anyhow of the circumstances, the viral footage and ongoing social media exchanges between Rocker and Mahomes Sr. have only increased public curiosity about their rivalry.
